Wealthy investors and Venture Capitalists are always willing to fund concepts that eventually become a reality.

Gracefully spanning the entrance into the San Francisco Bay, the Golden Gate Bridge is the San Francisco icon. Built in 1937, it also is one of the 7 wonders of the modern world. The bridge is stunning from both North and South, or on a clear day or in the fog and at sunrise and sunset. It is a perfect mosaic of all the combined elements offering endless romantic possibilities.

Invented in 1873 by Hallide, the Cable Cars are the only moving landmarks in the country. They also opened up the hills for development.

San Francisco is laced with scenic neighborhoods. Having survived the 1906 earthquake, Pacific Heights showcases the City's oldest mansions with magnificent gardens and breathtaking panoramas of the city.

Nob Hill was home to the original six Gold Rush Millionaires and Railroad Barons. They built elegant homes and hotels noted for their sweeping vistas.

Chinatown is a preserved art and cultural center for the Chinese community. It boasts one of the largest arrays of exotic herb shops, tea rooms, temples, fabric stores, to name a few.

Built in 1915 for the Panama Pacific Exposition, the romantic Palace of Fine Arts is a fine example of the Beaux Arts architectural style. It rises like a mirage from it's landscaped, swan-filled lagoon, and casts you away to some far away land.

During the great boom year of 1850-1900, with the Sierra Gold-Rush, Comstock Silver Rush and the excitement of the transcontinental railroad, the city flourished. The vast redwoods dominate the forest. Some of the giant red sequoias can grow up to 312 feet tall. The tallest tree in this forest is in the Cathedral Grove and is about 252 feet tall and 14 feet wide.

Sausalito

Sausalito is a Mediterranean - like town perched on the hillside with magnificent panoramas of the San Francisco Bay. The town was an enclave for artists and writers and has numerous art studios and galleries, boutique shops, and fabulous waterfront restaurants.

Like San Francisco, Sausalito has a colorful history of its own. During prohibition, it was a hub for bootleggers transporting Canadian whiskey. It also boasts one of the largest marinas in the Bay Area.

Tiburon

Tiburon was the end of the railroads from Eureka to San Francisco during the lumber trade before the WWII. The Ark Row shops (which look like giant doll Houses) circa 1800 have been preserved as a monument to this rich heritage.

Muir Woods, Mt. Tamalpais, Sausalito, Pacific Coast Highway

Mt. Tamalpais is about 6,000 ft above sea level with stunning views of the San Francisco Bay. Immerse yourself in the wonders of nature.

Muir Woods - Point Bonita

The Point Bonita lighthouse was the first lighthouse in the West coast from the 1700's and is still operational. The rugged rock structure is a replica of the dramatic Monterey coastline with stunning views of San Francisco and its Bay, the Presidio, plus surrounding neighborhoods.

The mansion is 36,000 square feet, and has 43 rooms, 17 fireplaces, arched windows, French doors. Flemish blond exterior, and Spanish tile roof with 17 to 24 foot high ceilings in some of the rooms.

The house is surrounded by 654 acres of oak, madrone and redwood forests. There are several intricate formal gardens, pools, terraces, sculptures and lawns arranged between two parallel walks and has been featured in TV shows such as Dynasty, and numerous other movies.

During the holidays, Filoli showcases some of the most festive decorations and floral arrangements in the Bay Area.
